Synopsis:

Three short stories dealing with the theme of homosexuality throughout the century. In “A Friend of Dorothy”, Dorothy Nelson (Brittany Murphy) joins the Navy during the 1950’s and discovers lesbianism. In “Mr. Roberts”, a teacher, Mr. Roberts (Steven Weber), in a 1970’s classroom struggles with his closeted gay status when a student of his, Tobias “Toby” Anderson (Jonathan Taylor Thomas), wishes to confide in him about his own sexuality. Finally in “Amos and Andy”, a father wrestles with his own emotional acceptance of a present day wedding between his son, Amos (James LeGros), and another man.
