Listen closely to that cute puppet on a string in the new movie, Carlo Collodi’s Pinocchio. “I do the voice of Pinocchio for the whole film,” explains Jonathan Taylor Thomas, who spent three weeks in the Czech Republic filming the movie. “But physically I’m only on screen at the end when I turn into a real boy.”
But don’t worry, for his next project, JTT will be on-screen plenty.
Currently he’s in Georgia filming the action-adventure flick, Wild America, with two other major hotties, Devon Sawa and Scott Bairstow. This doll-alpolooza is about a year in the lives of Marty (Scott), Mark (Devon) and Marshall (Jonathan) Stouffer, three real-life brothers now famous for their wildlife documentary films, “It’s a great story about the brothers when they were kids going cross country in search of wildlife,” says Jonathan. “It has a lot of action but it also deals with a lot of heartfelt issues, too.”
And you die-hard fans will be happy to know, Jonathan will be in practically every frame of the movie. So until Wild America opens next year, guess we’ll just have to be satisfied with the Jonathan look-a-like puppet they made for Pinocchio. “The puppet is incredible,” the actor says with total awe. “I had to sit in plaster for 45 minutes and then they took the mold to make the puppet. It is amazing! When you see the film, you really feel for the puppet. You just want to reach out to him.”
